Swan song for Windows 7

Brace yourselves Windows fans, 13 January 2015 was a black day for all of us: Microsoft will no longer support Windows 7.

Being a masterpiece after stillborn Vista, Windows 7 was forced to give way to Windows 8, whose low market rate speaks for its popularity better than any user reviews.

So-called “extended support” with “critical” security updates, which you will receive until January 2020, is cold comfort. Of course, the situation isn’t hopeless – you can still buy Windows 7 or downgrade from Windows 8.1 Pro. Software comes and goes, like anything in this world.

So let’s keep our fingers crossed for Windows 10 and wish Microsoft to follow the good old tradition of releasing an awesome and stable operating system after a bad one.
